Monthly Seminar – Florida’s Digital Twin: A New Cross-Campus Initiative to Guide Data-Driven Decision-Making for a More Resilient Florida

Christine Angelini

Assistant Professor, Environmental Engineering
University of Florida

Penn:   Singh Center, Room 035

In this presentation, Dr Angelini will introduce the recently launched ‘Florida’s Digital Twin’ initiative and invite IoT4Ag participants to share ideas about how emerging sensor technologies could interface with this technology platform. Florida’s Digital Twin is a technology platform for streamlining both the integration of environment, infrastructure, social, economic, and health data as well as the simulation, optimization, and visualization of infrastructure investment, management, design, and policy decisions faced by the state, businesses, and local stakeholders. By reducing barriers to cross-campus collaboration and enriching engagement between UF experts and public and private sector stakeholders, Florida’s Digital Twin will accelerate scientific innovation, amplify the real-world benefits that UF and UF Health deliver statewide, and attract significant investment in future research and technology innovation.
