Abstract:
This paper reports the assembly, analysis, and characterization of a five-phase, rotating-magnet electrodynamic wireless power transmission (EWPT) receiver. At a distance of 15 cm from the transmitter, a single receiver generates 75 mW ac power, corresponding to a power density of 66 mW/cm 3 and a normalized power density of 509 mW/cm 3 ·mT 2 . Further, using a full wave rectifier circuit, the same receiver delivers a DC power of 61 mW. Additionally, a constellation of three receivers produces a maximum combined DC power of 182 mW, three times that of a single receiver, indicating the ability to additively combine multiple EWPT receivers for scalable power solutions.
