As much as 75% of the fresh fruit consumed in the U.S. is dependent on hand-harvesting. Without a reliable workforce to pick the crops, growers and farm workers are at risk of losing their livelihood. The Last Harvest offers a rare glimpse into the hopes, hardships, and uncertain futures of three family growers. IoT4Ag is pleased to host a screening of this short film at the Opening Reception for the Center’s 2022 Annual Meeting at Purdue University. A panel discussion on the nexus of labor and technology in agriculture will follow the screening. Panelists will include guest speakers from Driscoll’s, the California-based berry company that produced the film in partnership with Farm League. Doors open at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.
